Gettin’ Carried Away

Let’s face it… if you live in Chicago, you are bound to get snowed-in during the winter months… which could last until April! Fortunately, there hasn’t been too much snow this season (yet). Us Chicagoans have mostly been battling several ice storms! Either way, there is no better time to plan a trip when you are stuck in the house, dreaming of warmer weather and fun in the sun.

From reading some of my other posts, you will see I am a huge advocate of Southwest Airlines. One of the reasons is because it is the only one that does NOT charge for checked luggage. Another reason I love Southwest is because it always (yes, always) runs some sort of amazingly affordable promotion. Visit the website and check out the airline’s Big Year-End Sale! As long as you purchase your tickets 14 days in advance, and the flights are Monday-Thursday & Saturday, you could find yourself in sunny Fort Lauderdale for as little as $59 each way!

So if you are tired of the cold outdoors and you just want to get away, plan a trip! You’d be surprised just how affordable it can be.

If you are looking to see spectacular displays of Christmas cheer, plan to take a trip down to the South!

Prestonwood Forest is a charming subdivision nestled in Northwest Houston. Each year, the community unites to create one of the most glamorous displays of holiday cheer in the country! Every street boasts a different theme, and almost every home in the neighborhood participates. Even if some of the residents are under the weather, friends and neighbors join in to help decorate everyone’s homes. Prestonwood Forest has even been featured on the Travel Channel!

It’s a great place to bring family and friends. Hop in the car, jam to some Christmas music (I prefer rockin’ to Trans-Siberian Orchestra, myself) and marvel and the magnificent lights in Space City!
