Hotel St. Pierre in New Orleans

I’m back! After much rest, I headed off to New Orleans (still sick) this past weekend and made it through the entire trip. I flew from Chicago to New Orleans with a cold and, as expected, got a bit of an ear infection after I stepped off the plane. If you can possibly avoid it, try not to fly when you have a head cold.

In spite of the sharp pains I felt in my left ear, I couldn’t wait to get to the Hotel St. Pierre in the French Quarter. After surveying a bunch of my friends, I found that many people were interested in staying right on Bourbon Street. My recommendation… don’t do that. Your room will be very overpriced, and you can stay just a few blocks away (at 911 Burgundy) for much cheaper! Side note: Burgundy is pronounced bur-guhn-dee… accent on the “guhn.” Also, try and stay away from big chain hotels, as most of them are nestled on Canal Street, rather far from the action of the infamous Bourbon Street.

The Hotel St. Pierre is just a few blocks away from all the fun to be found on Bourbon Street. From the street, the hotel looks like a charming house. And the interior boasts the same feeling! Our room featured a dramatic two-story ceiling, a beautiful brick wall and a faux wood fireplace! All three of us even had our own beds to boot! The hotel serves a complimentary Continental Breakfast in the morning and the staff gives superb service. If you’re planning on visiting the Big Easy, stay at the Hotel St. Pierre!

Glad you like it, Marion! It was about $150 a night for three of us. When you split the cost with your friends, it’s really a sweet deal!
