They say the third time’s a charm

Who was the first person to say, “The third time’s a charm”… ? The joke is, “Someone who couldn’t get it right the first two times.” HAH!

Tonight, I’m heading to London, England for the third time in two years. As for the above joke, however, I don’t think it applies to me. I loved living in London (the first time I went there), and I had an amazing time visiting the city almost one year later. This third time, I’m expecting to enjoy the city even more!

To give you an idea of how special the city of London is to me, I’m going to tell you a few things:

  1. I made several friends for life… including Lindsey, whom I visited in Denver, CO in Oct 2007.
  2. I don’t have to pay for a hotel when I visit. I always stay with my dear friend Carmella. She’s a very gracious host and an amazing friend.
  3. I have to eat at the Thailand Restaurant at least two or three times during my visit. It has the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten in my life. Suffice it to say, if I never make it to Thailand, it’s ok.
  4. I kept my Oyster travel card and a hair dryer I purchased at a Boots pharmacy, knowing I will go back to London as many times as possible.
  5. I have 15+ other reasons to visit London. They are Carmella, Chris, Will, Cas, Aoife, Jo, Manny, Josh, Charlie, Poppy, Gordon, Lucie, Marti, Becca, Charlotte, Ian, Phil, Ed and more!

I could not be happier right now. I am super excited to get back to my British/Welsh family, my favorite Thai food and my third home. Side note: Chicago is where I grew up, New York City is my second home and London comes in close at third
